How to reach the Island of Elba
Elba is reachable by ferry by embarking at Piombino on one of the three companies (Toremar, Moby Lines and BluNavy) ferries. These ferries provide a comfortable trip with hourly departures. In only one hour the ferry covers the nine kilometers which separate the island from the continent, arriving safely at the harbors of Portoferraio or Rio Marina.
There is however, an alternate route for pedestrians only, by taking a fast hydro float boat which reaches Portoferraio in only 30 minutes.
We can also book your ferry ticket in advance. We’ll post the ticket over to you once you let us know your preferred time without charging an additional sales commission. We’ll endeavor to get you the best deal and if you book your ticket early enough we might even be able to get you a special ferry tariff for cars of 1 Euro (the price does not include taxes and passenger duties)! These tickets obviously are to be booked in advance.
For more information on the ferries please visit the companies websites at: www.moby.it, www.toremar.it, www.blunavytraghetti.com and www.corsica-ferries.it
